The Baltimore Orioles picked up a nice win over the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night by the score of 5-4.  The Orioles got a three run home run in the third inning from Luke Scott off of Red Sox starter Josh Beckett that proved to be enough for the Orioles.

Scott led the Orioles with three rbi all coming on the home run which was his second of the season.  Kevin Millar and Jay Payton both had one rbi in the game as well.

Jeremy Guthrie pitched six innings to pick up the win for the Orioles.  Guthrie is now 2-3 on the season.  He gave up eight hits and three runs in the game.  Only two of the runs were earned.  Jim Johnson also gave up a run in 1 1/3 innings of action.  George Sherrill pitched 1 2/3 innings to pick up his 14th save of the season.

The Baltimore Orioles beat the Kansas City Royals 4-1 on Thursday night as they broke their five game losing streak.  The Orioles only had six hits but the Rangers only had three hits in the game as the Orioles pitched very well.

Daniel Cabrera pitched all nine innings is the game to pick up the win which was his thid on the season.  Cabrera struck out five batters and only walked one.  Cabrera did a great job as he limited the Royals to only three hits in the game.

Nick Markakis had three rbi for the Orioles as he hit a three run home run in the third inning.  Markakis scored the other run for the Orioles which was unearned in the first inning on a wild pitch.

The Baltimore Orioles lost to the Oakland Athletics on a walk off home run in the tenth inning on Wednesday afternoon.  Mark Ellis took Lance Cormier deep for the game winning home run off of the left field foul pole.  Cormier is now 0-1 on the season.

It was really too bad the Orioles lost the game after they came back to make it a game in the eighth inning as they scored three runs.  Brian Roberts came off the bench to provide two RBI, Melvin Mora, Kevin Millar, and Ramon Hernandez all had one RBI in the game as well.

Starting pitcher Jeremy Guthrie got roughed up as he allowed five hits and four runs in only 5 2/3 innings.  Chad Bradford also gave up a run in the eighth inning that tied the game up.

The Orioles continue to be in games but are not doing the little things and that is what is causing them to lose these close games.  Not turning double plays and getting picked off bases are stupid mistakes that shouldn’t be happening.   We will see if the Orioles can turn it around as they head to Kansas City for their next series.

The Baltimore Orioles had tied the game in the ninth inning to send the game into extra innings, but then quickly lost in the tenth inning as the A’s beat the Orioles 2-1.  The Orioles are now 16-16 on the season.

Jim Johnson took the loss for the Orioles as he he gave up two hits and a walk in the tenth inning.  Emil Brown singled in Daric Barton from second base for the winning run for the A’s.  Johnson is now 0-1 on the season.

Garrett Olson had started the game and pitched 6 1/3 innings giving up four hits and only one run.  Olson struck out seven batters as well.  He pitched well enough to get a win, there was just no run support by the Orioles bats.

Ramon Hernandez had the lone RBI for the Orioles when he grounded out to shortstop in the ninth inning.  Melvin Mora scored on the groundout.

The Baltimore Orioles only managed to get three hits against the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday afternoon as they lost 4-2.  Three hits is pretty damn bad, Orioles fans better hope that this is just a fluke and they Orioles come out and swing the bats better the next game.

The two runs that the Orioles did manage to get came on a two run home run in the fourth inning when Adam Jones went deep.  Other then that the other two hits came from Brian Roberts and Aubrey Huff.

Brian Burres gave up six hits and four runs in six innings of action as he took the loss for the Orioles.  Burres is now 3-2 on the season.  Four relief pitchers pitched the final three innings without allowing another run to cross the plate.

The Orioles will try to get back on track Friday when they start a series with the Los Angeles Angels

The Baltimore Orioles rallied after being down five runs to the Seattle Mariners and pulled out a 8-7 victory.  The Orioles were quickly down five runs after only three innings of play, but that is when they turned things on at the plate and started to score some runs.

Jay Payton got things started in the fourth inning when he hit a solo home run to put the Orioles on the scoreboard.  In the fifth inning, Kevin Millar grounded into a double play, but did score one run.  The sixth inning, Adam Jones had a infield single that plated Payton.  It was the the seventh inning when the Orioles really did some damage as they scored four runs to take the lead.  That quickly went goodbye however as the Mariners came back and scored two runs in the bottom of the inning.  Good thing for Brian Roberts as he hit a solo home run in the eighth inning to give the Orioles a one run lead.

Chad Bradford pitched 1.1 innings of relief to pick up the win.  Bradford is now 2-1 on the season.  Starting pitcher Adam Loewen only lasted 2.2 innings as he gave up five runs on four hits.  Matt Albers and Jamie Walker both gave up a run out of the bullpen.

The hitters picked up the pitching staff on Thursday night, hopefully they won’t have to do that again on Friday when the Oriole start a series with the Chicago White Sox.

The Baltimore Orioles suffered a 4-2 loss to the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday night.  In a game where the Orioles left 15 men on base, they just couldn’t get that big hit when they needed it to beat the Mariners.  With the loss, the Orioles record now stands at 11-9 on the season.

Jeremy Guthrie pitched 7.2 innings and took the loss for the Orioles.  Five hits, four runs (three earned), four walks, and five strikeouts was Guthrie’s line for the game.

Aubrey Huff led the Orioles at the plate as he hit a hit a solo home run and had one RBI.  Kevin Millar also had one RBI, but it clearly wasn’t enough to lift the Orioles to the win.  Nick Markakis went 1-3 but left four runners on base.
