The Baltimore Orioles lost to the Oakland Athletics on a walk off home run in the tenth inning on Wednesday afternoon.  Mark Ellis took Lance Cormier deep for the game winning home run off of the left field foul pole.  Cormier is now 0-1 on the season.

It was really too bad the Orioles lost the game after they came back to make it a game in the eighth inning as they scored three runs.  Brian Roberts came off the bench to provide two RBI, Melvin Mora, Kevin Millar, and Ramon Hernandez all had one RBI in the game as well.

Starting pitcher Jeremy Guthrie got roughed up as he allowed five hits and four runs in only 5 2/3 innings.  Chad Bradford also gave up a run in the eighth inning that tied the game up.

The Orioles continue to be in games but are not doing the little things and that is what is causing them to lose these close games.  Not turning double plays and getting picked off bases are stupid mistakes that shouldn’t be happening.   We will see if the Orioles can turn it around as they head to Kansas City for their next series.

The Baltimore Orioles only managed to get three hits against the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday afternoon as they lost 4-2.  Three hits is pretty damn bad, Orioles fans better hope that this is just a fluke and they Orioles come out and swing the bats better the next game.

The two runs that the Orioles did manage to get came on a two run home run in the fourth inning when Adam Jones went deep.  Other then that the other two hits came from Brian Roberts and Aubrey Huff.

Brian Burres gave up six hits and four runs in six innings of action as he took the loss for the Orioles.  Burres is now 3-2 on the season.  Four relief pitchers pitched the final three innings without allowing another run to cross the plate.

The Orioles will try to get back on track Friday when they start a series with the Los Angeles Angels

The Baltimore Orioles rallied after being down five runs to the Seattle Mariners and pulled out a 8-7 victory.  The Orioles were quickly down five runs after only three innings of play, but that is when they turned things on at the plate and started to score some runs.

Jay Payton got things started in the fourth inning when he hit a solo home run to put the Orioles on the scoreboard.  In the fifth inning, Kevin Millar grounded into a double play, but did score one run.  The sixth inning, Adam Jones had a infield single that plated Payton.  It was the the seventh inning when the Orioles really did some damage as they scored four runs to take the lead.  That quickly went goodbye however as the Mariners came back and scored two runs in the bottom of the inning.  Good thing for Brian Roberts as he hit a solo home run in the eighth inning to give the Orioles a one run lead.

Chad Bradford pitched 1.1 innings of relief to pick up the win.  Bradford is now 2-1 on the season.  Starting pitcher Adam Loewen only lasted 2.2 innings as he gave up five runs on four hits.  Matt Albers and Jamie Walker both gave up a run out of the bullpen.

The hitters picked up the pitching staff on Thursday night, hopefully they won’t have to do that again on Friday when the Oriole start a series with the Chicago White Sox.

Even without the presence of the Yankees star third baseman Alex Rodriguez for the late part of the game, the Orioles were unable to pull in a win at home on Sunday against the Yankees.  Unable to get a run on the board until late in the game in the 8th inning, Baltimore struggled all night against the pitching of Andy Pettitte and the Yankees bullpen.

Baltimore opened up the night with Steve Trachsel on the mound and kept him there for six and a third innings before giving up the spot to Chad Bradford who immediately gave up a 2 run home run to the Yankees.  Trachsel took the loss for the Orioles and is now 1-3 on the season.  George Sherrill also gave up three earned runs out of the bullpen for the Orioles.

Baltimore didn’t have much hitting happening for them all night with only Brian Roberts picking up an RBI and with Kevin Millar and Guillermo Quiroz each getting a double.

With the Orioles leaving for a 3 game match up against the Mariners in Seattle, will they be able to rest up on their day off to get a win on Tuesday?

Wow, what a win for the Baltimore Orioles as they came back to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth inning and then went on for the win in ten innings against the Chicago White Sox.  That is the momentum that the Orioles need to hopefully got on a nice winning streak in the next five to seven games.

Adam Jones singled in the game winning run in the 10th inning after the Orioles had tied the game in the bottom of the ninth inning.  In the ninth inning, the Orioles got RBI’s from Brian Roberts and Melvin Mora that tied the game.  Up until that point, it was Nick Markakis that kept the Orioles in the game with two RBI.

George Sherrill picked up the win for the Orioles.  Starting pitcher Jeremy Guthrie picked up the no decision as he pitched six innings of six hit ball.  He did give up four runs (three of them earned) as he got hit pretty hard in the beginning of the game.

We will have to see if the Orioles use this momentum during the next few days to pick up some wins.  What do you think?

The Baltimore Orioles swept the Seattle Mariners in a four game series for the first time since 1999 on Monday with a 5-4 victory.

In the 8th inning, Aubrey Huff hit the go ahead homerun and then George Sherrill finished the game up by picking up his fourth save of the season.  Dennis Sarfate was the winning pitcher for the Orioles.

Melvin Mora also hit a homerun while Brian Roberts collected three hits for the red hot Orioles.  The Orioles are now 5-1 on the season and will look to extend their record to 6-1 when they take on the Texas Rangers.

Phil Rogers a columnist in Chicago keeps writing that the Orioles and Cubs are still talking trade ideas for Brian Roberts and Erik Bedard.  We don’t know how true it is as it seems he is the only writing in Chicago that is still writing about it.

Rogers says that it could be a seven for two player trade.  The rumor before was that the Cubs would be sending Sean Marshall, Sean Gallagher, Ronny Cedeno, Rich Hill, Felix Pie, and two minor league players would be headed to the Orioles for Bedard and Roberts.  If I’m the Orioles I do that deal for these reasons.

1.  Felix Pie is a possible 5 tool hitter if he can learn to cut down on the strikeouts.
2.  Rich Hill is a possible #2 starter in most rotations around the league.
3.  Sean Marshall has showed he can pitch at the big league level.
4.  Ronny Cedeno and Sean Gallagher are pretty good themselves.
5.  The Orioles aren’t going to keep Bedard or Roberts much longer, so why not get something in return?

Would you do this trade Orioles Fans?
