The Baltimore Orioles lost a tough game on Tuesday night as the Toronto Blue Jays scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning to defeat the Orioles 7-6.  Any time your team loses in the final inning you are just stuck with that weird feeling in your stomach.  How many Orioles fans are feeling that right now?

Jim Johnson gave up the winning run in the ninth inning as he took the loss to fall to 2-3 on the season.  Johnson gave up a fielders choice to Scott Rolen in the final inning where Alex Rios scored when Freddie Bynum had an error.

Starting pitcher Daniel Cabrera lasted 6 1/3 innings while he gave up six hits and four runs.  Cabrera didn’t have his best stuff in the game that is for sure.  Dennis Sarfate also gave up two runs in relief of Cabrera.

Nick Markakis and Aubrey Huff led the Orioles at the plate with two rbi each.  Huff hit is 18th home run of the season in the game as well.  Adam Jones had one rbi as he contributed at the bottom of the order.

Jim Johnson gave up two hits and the game winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning as the New York Yankees beat the Baltimore Orioles 2-1 on Thursday night.  Johnson gave up the game winning hit to Robinson Cano who scored Hideki Matsui who singled to lead off the inning.

Johnson is now 0-2 on the season with a 1.44 era.  Just a bad outing by Johnson.  Starting pitcher Brian Burres pitched 7 2/3 innings in the game got the no decision.  Burres gave up  six hits and only one run in the game.  He deserved a much better outcome had the Orioles actually put some runs on the scoreboard.

The only Orioles run came in the third inning when Freddie Bynum tripled and Adam Jones scored.  Besides that triple, the Orioles only had four other hits in the game as they struggled against the Yankees pitchers.

It has been pretty quite lately for the Baltimore Orioles but on Wednesday they have announced they have signed five players to one year contracts.  RHP Dennis Sarfate, INF-OF Freddie Bynum, RHP Jim Johnson, RHP Bob McCrory, INF Scott Moore were all signed to one year deals while RHP Lance Cormier signed a minor league contract that invites him to spring training.

Nothing big, but a few players like Sarfate, Bynum, and Johnson could all see time with the big league club this year.
