All three of the Orioles runs came off the bat of Aubrey Huff. Huff connected on a solo home run and then a two run double in the game. Besides Huff’s two hits, only three other players had a hit in the game as most of the offense struggled.
Jeremy Guthrie got the start on the mound and gave up two runs in seven innings to get the loss and is now 10-9 on the season. Rocky Cherry and Jim Johnson both gave up two runs as the Red Sox blew the game open in the final two innings of the game.
]]>Jeremy Guthrie took the loss after tossing 5 2/3 innings and giving up six hits and two runs.
Melvin Mora had the only rbi for the Orioles when he had a rbi infield single in the 4th inning.
Hopefully the O’s can come back and win the afternoon game. We will be back with a recap after that game.
]]>George Sherrill gave up one walk and three hits as the Blue Jays scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth to win the game. Sherrill gave up a sac fly to Lyle Overbay and then the game winning rbi single to Adam Lind as the Blue Jays came back to win.
Jeremy Guthrie was the starting pitcher for the O’s and he pitched ok as he lasted seven innings. Guthrie gave up four hits and two runs (one earned) in the game while getting stuck with the no decision. Jim Johnson pitched one inning and gave up two hits and two runs.
At the plate, Melvin Mora led the team with two rbi which came in the eighth inning on a two run single. Aubrey Huff, Jay Payton, and Brandon Fahey all added one rbi each in the game to help out but it wasn’t quite enough.
The Orioles now have one series left in the first half and they will take on the Boston Red Sox. Will they even win one game? I doubt it…
]]>A fourth inning two run triple by Luke Scott got the Orioles on the scoreboard and a 2-0 lead. The Orioles then got two more runs in the fifth inning when Nick Markakis had a rbi double and Kevin Millar had a rbi single. A rbi double by Alex Cintron, rbi triple by Roberts, and a rbi single by Markakis gave the Orioles three more runs in the sixth inning.
Jeremy Guthrie pitched six innings and allowed seven hits and four runs to get the victory. Guthrie wasn’t throwing the ball great, but he did a good enough job to get the win and actually got some run support this time. Guthrie is now 4-7 on the season.
The Orioles bullpen did run into some trouble however. Jim Johnson allowed one run and then George Sherrill had the bases loaded with zero outs in the ninth inning but then got the next three batters to strikeout. Sherrill struggled a little bit as he was brought into the game in th eighth inning and had to get the final four outs of the game. He was able to lock down how record his 26th save however.
]]>The other run for the Orioles came in the seventh inning when Luke Scott hit a game tying home run. Before that it was 1-0 and Scott came up big for the Orioles as they won another one run game.
Jeremy Guthrie awesome as he pitched eight innings and only allowed three hits and one run. The one run was a solo home run to Lance Berkman in the top of the seventh inning. Guthrie pitched great and got the no decision in the game. Chad Bradford pitched the ninth and tenth innings to pick up the win. Bradford is now 3-2 on the season after picking up the victory.
The Orioles will now go for the three game sweep on Thursday. I like their chances as they are playing with a lot of confidence right now.
]]>Jeremy Guthrie threw the ball pretty bad as he pitched 4 2/3 innings to take the loss and drop his record to 3-7. Guthrie allowed seven hits and five runs including the grand slam in the game. Pretty much made the one mistake to Mike Lowell who hit the grand slam in the second inning.
The Orioles bullpen really wasn’t much better however as they gave up four more runs in the game. After Guthrie was taken out of the game, Chad Bradford pitched a scored 1 1/3 inning and then Dennis Sarfate and Jamie Walker both gave up two runs each.
Both of the Orioles runs came in the sixth inning. Salazar had a rbi double to score a run and then Aubrey Huff had a ground rule double that score another run in the inning. There wasn’t a whole lot of production in the game for the O’s as the struckout six times and left 10 runners on base. They really just seemed to have problems with Red Sox starter Jon Lester.
The Orioles will now take on the Pittsburgh Pirates in Baltimore over the weekend. If you have time we really urge you to get out there and see a game in person and root the Orioles on!
]]>Jones finished the game with three rbi while Millar had two rbi. Aubrey Huff also had a rbi double in the fourth inning for the Orioles.

Jeremy Guthrie got a no decision in the game after throwing 6 1/3 innings and giving up eight hits and two runs.
Good win for the O’s, and hopefully they can keep things going against the Red Sox! Orioles Blog

The two runs for the Orioles came off the bat of Melvin Mora who hit a two run home run in the third inning. Other then that, the Orioles bat weren’t very good as they left 14 runners on base.
]]>Scott led the Orioles with three rbi all coming on the home run which was his second of the season. Kevin Millar and Jay Payton both had one rbi in the game as well.
Jeremy Guthrie pitched six innings to pick up the win for the Orioles. Guthrie is now 2-3 on the season. He gave up eight hits and three runs in the game. Only two of the runs were earned. Jim Johnson also gave up a run in 1 1/3 innings of action. George Sherrill pitched 1 2/3 innings to pick up his 14th save of the season.
]]>It was really too bad the Orioles lost the game after they came back to make it a game in the eighth inning as they scored three runs. Brian Roberts came off the bench to provide two RBI, Melvin Mora, Kevin Millar, and Ramon Hernandez all had one RBI in the game as well.
Starting pitcher Jeremy Guthrie got roughed up as he allowed five hits and four runs in only 5 2/3 innings. Chad Bradford also gave up a run in the eighth inning that tied the game up.
The Orioles continue to be in games but are not doing the little things and that is what is causing them to lose these close games. Not turning double plays and getting picked off bases are stupid mistakes that shouldn’t be happening. We will see if the Orioles can turn it around as they head to Kansas City for their next series.
